TOTP - Top Ten Wolves

Robs list. Jons back. Here is the top ten list of wolves:-

Miss Hollywood Marilyn joins us on todays show - check out Robs Myspace account for some photos of her great gifts, and while you are on Myspace add totp_jon and totp_rob to your friends list (and tell all your friends too).

We'd also like to thank jousting expert Dominic Sewell, member of the Order of the Crescent for joining us on the show.

Plus check out the great Wolf from Gladiator photo we were on about.

That statement apple made about stores not having email addresses is complete rubbish, I've communicated with the apple birmingham store via email in the past, theie email add is bullring@apple.com so I reckon you could work out the LV stores email add, I dont know which one you went to but it could be fashionshow@apple.com, summitsierra@apple.com

Using my mad deduction powers (of going to apple.com/retail) im guessing theyre the two email addresses as apple.com/uk/retail/bullring/ is the url for the bullring, so im guessing the /storename/ also relates to the store's email, give it a go, you've got nothing to loose and you'll just get undelivered reports.

Just remember to quote all applecare refernce numbers as apple are very very poor at talking to each other. Hope this helps, sorry to hear you're having problems, I think I had 6 yes six 4G ipods before I upgraded to 5G,

Iggy

I think Dominic Sewell had a little slip up when he talked about canine police officers in George Orwell's 1984. He actually meant to say Animal Farm. It was a good laugh though. But keep up the good work. Loving the show.

PS: I slipped up in a previous post and put Orson Wells' 1984 instead of George Owells...hahaha. Ah well.

Excellent show. Good to have Jon back. I thought Airwolf might have been in the list.

Hi Jon, I joined My Space the other day and this mysterious 'Tom' character appeared as one of my friends as soon as the membership process was completed. He's either rather keen to make British friends or he's a phoney that My Space send by default to new members to make them feel at home. I tried to tell you through My Space but it wouldn't let me in. I reckon Tom's trying to keep you for himself.

Tom is the guy that started myspace I think, that's why he has 82 million friends. LOL

On a different subject, does anyone else watch Prison Break? I bought Season 1 Part 1 on Monday and I've already watched it all, can't wait for part 2 to be released. I think it's brilliant.

Wolves are to me...
...as bears are to Stephen Colbert.
'Nuff said.
Loved the show.
Rob + Jon = Podcast Perfection.
It's a winning formula not to be messed with.
One without the other just isn't the same.
Keep up the attendance, Jon!
Rob needs someone to 'give him a ribbing' and 'wind him up' and 'go off at a tangent'.
Thanks to both hosts, and to the guests.

p.s. Rob, the lesson learned ought to be "Don't try to buy stuff 'on the cheap' overseas and expect there to be no problems", not at that price level, too risky. My mate, Stan, has been through at least 4 iPods before getting one that kept working. If you had bought one in the UK you would not be in the situation you find yourself in. I have a 1st Gen iPod (with replaced battery) still works like a charm.

My favourite wolf would be Angua out of Terry Pratchett's Discworld books.

And, of course, Big Bad Wolf.

Great to hear both of you back at the mic!

Apple can be picky about buying stuff in another country and taking it out of there. the best thing may be to send your iPod to a trusted friend in Vegas and having them exchange it.

or just bitch to lots of peopla nd make a scene. I suggest starting with bitching to other podcasters, particularly Apple podcasts.

Apple will listen if a lot of people bitch.

AppleCare is worldwide and is good and valid no matter what country the product was bought in/taken to. I took a UK iPod in for service in New Zealand and they replaced it no problem, and apple UK happily replaced the NZ iPod in the UK no quibbles, although I did get two brown boxes as the change of serial number confused their system.

Refunds are a different story, especially if you purchased it in a retail store rather than via the US webstore.

I agree though, If you have a friend in the states, send it to them recorded and get them to take it back.

Forget apple, try iriver!

Ive never had any proublems with them

me too, iRiver all the way...

Are you sure that you iPod isn't currently configured for power settings in the US, instead of the UK? true it goes through the computer, but the firmware could be different. have you checked the apple support forums for info about this/

that pic of Gladiator Wolf reminds me a bit of someone i know, who once got very drunk and didn't know where he was or even who he was and i had to help him get home (the guy i know, not Wolf!). "Gladiators" was fun, shame it ended... us kids of the 1990s recreated it for years afterwards!

Another top show!

Rob is great but Jon is 51% of the funny.

*Sorry* Rob. (I liked the previous shows without him though)

Just as an aside - I see that Channel 4 have started an internet radio station (with an eye to move to DAB I guess). One of the shows is "Miquita Oliver's Twisted 10's -=- A series of amusing programmes running down top ten oddities including conspiracy theories, swindles, days that changed the world, and kiss and tells. Guest contributors join Miquita Oliver with re-enactments, stories and the search for truth in this twisted look at mankind's speckled underbelly."

OK, it's about time I posted something to our boards so here goes...

Poor, poor Rob. Is it all the nagging and wining about apple in the past that has given him some bad apple karma. My Name Is Earl is all I have to say to Rob. Quit bitching about Apple and one day the true apple colours will adorn his ears! Ahh. Sorry Rob.

BAZZA: Thanks mate, good to be back. Airwolf is a cracker - I can't believe we forgot that one!

ANNONYMOUS POSTER: Tom is odd. How dare he add himself to my friends without easking, even if he did invent myspace - which incidently looks like a pile of crap visually. So crap is the layout that I refuse to do anything about it. It's a load of nob.

BAZZA AGAIN: Prison Break is top viewing. I have now finished the first season and am gutted - I want more, but they have only just started filming the 2nd season. You're in for a treat with the next half of the season Bazza - it just gets better and better.

PH: thanks for the ego massage. That is really nice to hear that I am missed. Ahh. I feel all warm and wanted now.

JH: Thanks for the tourettes stuff - forgot to mention it. The monks were well made up after receiving that little delight. I particularly liked the personalised shopping list-like note paper you used and I am quite fond of the way you write your 'j's'.

BUTTERCUPBOXER: I agree. Bitch like hell!

IGGY: you are a font of apple knowledge. thank you for gracing our board with your wisdom.

BRIAN: You're as bad as Rob and his pocketpc. Always on about your iRiver. I would like one though!

HELFIRE: Wolf from Gladiator is a wuss. A big girl. A whimp. A big baby. Basically he is rubbish and so was gladiator.

JOE: Would you like to join my fan club? Thanks for telling everyone I am 1% better than Rob. It's a win in my book. YEAH! HA HA ROB I AM BETTER THAN YOU!!

TOMTHETRUCKER: Thanks mate. Always nice to see you making an appearance. I need to watch Convoy. Thanks for the reminder.

ANNONYMOUS POSTER: Bloody Channel 4 nicking our show. Hmmm. Can we sue them Podcast Paul?

MAJA: I like the picture of the back of your head. Strange, but oddly attractive. Thanks for the welcome back. Oh I mean it's strange that you use the back of your head not that the back of your head is strange in any way.

Well that is probably the longest posting anywhere I have ever made in my entire life.

Recording tonight so another Top Quality Top Of The Pods hitting your aggregator very soon.

Rob, leave my post alone you git, I know you want to delete it. I can feel it in me water.

TomTheTrucker said...

Rob please dont delete jons post, i think its been one of the funnist and best ive read !
Im looking forward to tonights show !

I think you guys should do a music based list cos you have done a lot of film/TV ones. Not that I'm getting bored of them though :)

No show for a while, we had a great laugh with a guest caller who asked to be on the show then later contacted us and asked to be edited out - we totally respect that (even though they were great fun), but I won't have time to do a complex edit for a while - so sorry, no more shows until I can find a couple more hours to spare of my free time.

If anyone does call us in the future and our skype status says "We are recording - call us now!", we then ask your permission and you say yes then that's usually a clear indication that you don't mind us playing your call on the show. If you ask to be edited out afterwards then it significantly reduces the number of shows we can produce in a week. Plus editing gives me RSI!

You're so diplomatic, Rob. That's the nicest way of saying "Please don't waste our time" I've ever seen. Nice to see the big loony back (Rob's words) if only in print form.

thatguyfromthemightyfrogcast said...

Er Jon, when i said yes, i will be recorded, i did not expect to be callled a manner of offencive names. Not that im that bothered, but maybe i will make a slightly more appropriate appearance. Sorry about any inconvenience about that.

Top Of The Pods said...

FROG: Sorry mate, we were just messing around, didn't realise I may have offended you by calling you frogboy. Anyway, we'll get you on again at some ppoint if you haven't unsubscribed and put the record straight.
No offence meant mate.
Jonathan

Would i unsubscribe. I know its all in fun, but last night i was so god damn tired. and i only got about 5 hours sleeep last night as well. I was recording and planing the mightfrogcast. coming as soon as i can upload it. just dont mess with the frog....

Anonymous said...

not too be rude, but it sounds like frogger is a bit too sensitive. anyway, keep the shows coming please. and just do a show with rob and jon together alone, no editing, all the goofs. shouldnt take up too much time. if you sent up a fund, id send you guys a fiver for all the laughs ive had at work.
