TOTP - Chas and Dave Interview

No top ten lists today folks, instead we bring you our interview with two lovable cockney musicians, none other than Chas and Dave on their recent visit to Peterborough. We did ask them to do a top ten list so that we didn't break the format of the show, but due to time constraints we only had time for the interview.

Please help support these two fantastic guys who have been writing, recording and gigging for over 30 years. If you want to hear some traditional singalong cockney UK music then we recommend buying one of their great albums from Amazon. They are two of the most genuine blokes we have ever met, it is great to see musicians with real talent still gigging and doing what they enjoy doing so well.

Please excuse the poor interview technique, it's our first ever show of this kind. Thanks to friend of the show Dave who supplied us with the photos, and thanks to Terry for the expert help with microphones.

You guys ROCK! I wanted to hear this show so much that I downloaded it on dialup (26.4kbps!) - I'm having problems with my broadband.....

Keep up the great work!

PS, nice to put faces to the voices. You're both more or less what I had imagined you would look like! Jon, I just can't imagine seeing you squeezing into a SMART CAR!!! That would be a sight to behold!

You would be surprised how roomy a smart car is. I bought a petrol lawnmower last year from the localk hardware store and it and me fitted into my wifes little smart.

Smart cars rock. The for Four however is a little bit cramped, but christ the breaks are damn hot - I near broke my nose the first time I hit the brakes in the thing.

but didn;t you put the lawnmower under the hood to upgrade the engine?

Look, we both know who drives a girls car round here Roberta. So zip it. By the way, why did you choose the pink Ford KA and not at least get the girly car in a more manly colour?

but isnt the whole idea of a smart car to have a small engine so the tax is cheaper?

loved the episode, and wish they were longer, and did include a top 10. 1st a newspaper article, then an interview with C+D, your going up in the podcast world :).

Fantastic job, possibly my favourite TOTP yet. I felt at the beginning of the interview Chas & Dave were a little unsure as to whether you were taking the piss, but they really warmed to you after a couple of minutes. Did you play them the Chas & Dave mashup?

Did anyone hear about the tornado in Peterborough? It might have been in the podcast, i haven't listened to it yet.

Birmingham got hit really badly, Peterborough got hit I think just to the north out in the sticks - only a few trees were affected as far as I am aware.

We thought that Chas & Dave might think we weren't serious, but they seemed ok after a while - both seriously cool dudes!

I only found out about the Tornado in Peterborough thanks to the ET's front page (it's becoming quite a little font of wisdom isn't it... maybe thats why people actually stampede the poor delivery bloke as he drops them at the supermarket...).

Anyway, back on topic, how did I miss a Tornado? I didn't even think it was very windy yesterday...

Chaps,

The Tartanpodcast's got a forum now - time for you two to head on over and poke a little fun once again at Mark !

And I can't wait for the new idents; especially to find out just how p**-poor my attempts were compared to the quality stuff that you've no doubt received.
